TIPS FOR HIKING IN COLORADO
We have covered a few key points for you on how to be ready and what to expect along the route if you have always wanted to try your hand at this risky venture but are still unsure if the pleasure is worth the effort spent.

Today, words such as “trekking, backpacking and hiking” are becoming very popular. All of them belong to the type of outdoor activities, and the last one is just our topic.

Hiking is a simplified version of mountaineering, it does not require special training and special equipment. Anyone can go on a mini-trip to breathe in the fresh mountain air, admire nature or look at the peaks shrouded in mist.
So, warm days are going to end soon, it’s time to get ready for a walk through the hilly landscapes. Let’s say you’re going to the mountains for a day. Just in case, get ready for moving over Rocky Mountains, walking among bushes and thorns, fording small rivers, as well as sudden changes in weather that are typical for mountainous areas. Today we would to highlight the main tips for hiking in Colorado.

  1. Begin by determining the route
  2. Physical training
  3. Who to go hiking with
  4. Food on the tripLeave No Trace
  5. Equipment
  6. Is it worth it?

Begin by determining the route

Hiking websites provide useful information about where to go, what season and weather is best to do it, and which route is right for you. Some of the most popular routes in Colorado are Crater Lake, Marron Bells and Aspen.
The advantage of such publications is that they often do not give up-to-date information on the current status of the route, which might let you down on the road. Guidebooks for novices and not only are appropriate for picking routes.
The right club, where you can discover like-minded individuals or merely specialists who occasionally monitor busy routes and routinely supply information on trails in a certain area, is encouraged to join by foreign hiking sites.
If you decide to try your hand at hiking abroad, then here are some clubs that will help you decide: Adirondack Mountain Club, Appalachian Mountain Club, Sierra Club.

Physical training

Hiking is a pleasure that requires endurance and some physical fitness. Although hiking sounds like a walk, add a backpack, a difficult mountain route, changes in the weather, and you will realize that it is not so carefree and easy. But you should not forever abandon this type of recreation. All you need is advance preparation.

Who to go hiking with

Single excursions are quite common nowadays because they offer a rare chance to challenge yourself in unusual circumstances, to see how strong and resilient you are, and to simply be by yourself with your thoughts and feelings.
Don’t give up on basic enjoyment, though, since hiking can be a delightful activity for you and your pals when done in the proper company. If you simply want to unwind with friends in the great outdoors while doing something quite beneficial for your health, planning such a vacation is simpler.
However, if your trip’s purpose is more important, an appropriate setting can be required. The American Hiking Society’s experts recommend hiking with a group of at least four people so that, in the event of an injury, two people may seek assistance.

Food on the trip

The most crucial aspect of hiking is to remember to bring water. Make sure you drink at least 2 liters of fluid every day because your body will require a lot of it. If the road you select is devoid of abundant natural resources, clean water will be worth its weight in gold.
As you are aware, burning calories during physical exercise might have an impact on your wellbeing when hiking. Make sure you eat something before you forget. A cereal and nut bar is ideal for gaining the proper number of calories. This choice benefits everyone, not just vegans. Jerky and apples will both be quite helpful. The rest is all up to you.

Equipment

You shouldn’t disregard the appropriate attire only because visitors in the 1980s frequently traveled in any weather and on any surface while wearing jeans and felt shirts. Today, fortunately, there are many respectable companies that provide everything you need for hiking, as the appropriate gear is essential to your trip’s success.
The most important rule is to avoid getting wet. Choose warm, water-resistant gear that will keep you dry.
Since thermal underwear will make you overheat in the summer, it is inappropriate. Since natural cotton dries too quickly and might annoy individuals, it shouldn’t be utilized to produce garments. The best footwear is waterproof and lightweight. Because the brand you chose will let you down along the road, choose your shoes wisely. Pay attention to your other accessories as well, including your hats, bags, and eyeglasses.
Never forget to pack the essentials for a first-time traveler while going on a walk.

Is it worth it?

Hiking is definitely one of the outdoor activities to try as it suits almost everyone. The obvious advantages of hiking are that you can choose the route yourself, adapting it to your needs and desires. Physical training does not go beyond a healthy lifestyle, and equipment can be found in any tourist or just a sports store, but the experience that you get will be unforgettable for you and your friends. Who knows, you might discover something new along the way.

Experience was simply fantastic! The driver showed up punctually for our Red Rocks show and even waited for us despite the rain. He promptly picked us up afterwards. The 10 person luxury Van comfortably accommodated 8 of us. I am confident in recommending InterMountain Express Van and would definitely use their Red Rocks shuttle services again. I am grateful for making my son's birthday an unforgettable one. Thanks to the InterMountain Express rocks limo.

Our connecting flight from Denver --> Aspen was cancelled and InterMountain Express got us to Snowmass last-minute during snowy conditions. The Suburban was impeccable, outfitted with snow tires, and was more than enough space for may family of five and all our ski gear. We had to pay an added premium for the last-minute service - it is my understanding that pre-planned trips rand for 1/2 the cost - but it was an expense well worth it to get my family safely to our resort and on the slopes on schedule the following day.

Such great service! Arrived early and assisted with carrying and loading baggage. The driver was very nice and provided us with tips for navigating the Denver Airport. All passengers felt extremely comfortable in the car and with the driver. So much better than a shuttle service!
