Colorado ski storms: check current conditions

For your actual travel date, check a National Weather Service forecast, the Colorado Ski Country USA snow report, and your resort’s own alerts and operating status. Conditions can change rapidly during a mountain storm.
Plan the road journey
Check CDOT’s I-70 mountain corridor information and COtrip for closures, traffic and traction requirements. Leave flexibility in your schedule; neither a private driver nor any other transportation option can guarantee arrival during a closure or severe weather.
Check your booking terms
Review your actual transportation and lodging terms for weather-related changes, delays and cancellation. Do not assume a free rebooking or a specific rescue service. If you have medical or skiing-safety questions, follow your resort’s patrol guidance and qualified health professionals rather than an old blog checklist.
