Spring Skiing in Colorado: Check Current Conditions
Archive note: This article originally described spring 2021 conditions. Its old snowfall forecasts, lift dates, pass prices and transportation rates are no longer current. Check the resort and transportation provider before making plans.
Spring skiing can bring longer daylight, but snow, terrain, lift hours and closing dates vary by mountain and year. A warm afternoon can change conditions quickly. Review the current mountain report and operating calendar for the day you intend to ski.
Three Colorado resorts to check
Copper Mountain
Copper Mountain’s official mountain information lists its terrain and winter lift operations. Check its latest conditions and calendar before planning a spring trip. For ground travel information, see the Denver to Copper transportation page and confirm the details of any booking.
Telluride
Telluride publishes current trail and snow information. Its safety guidance explains that lift-served operations and off-season uphill access are different; do not assume a closed ski area has patrol or avalanche control. Confirm travel and resort dates directly.
Beaver Creek
Check Beaver Creek’s official weather and mountain conditions before reserving a trip. The resort’s terrain and services may change with the season. For ground travel, see Denver to Beaver Creek transportation and request a current quote.
Plan the trip with current information
- Verify open lifts and trails, operating hours, weather and road conditions shortly before departure.
- Review the resort’s current ticket and cancellation terms; do not rely on an older article’s price or refund claim.
- Confirm the vehicle, pickup location, passenger count, luggage and any accessibility needs with the transportation provider.
- Allow extra time for mountain travel. Weather and traffic can affect arrival times.
