Benefits of Choosing a Rooftop Tent for Your Road Trip
Roof top tents are increasingly becoming a favorite for most outdoor enthusiasts globally, myself included. While finding the perfect tent is daunting, I’d recommend you begin by choosing between a hard-shell or soft-shell rooftop tent.
Regardless of your preferred choice, all you should bring along is an adventurous spirit.
Widely known for their efficiency, durability, and unmatched mobility, rooftop tents from iKamper are an excellent choice for anyone who wants to explore the outdoors comfortably and in style.
I would recommend roof top tent iKamper to any outdoor person for the following reasons:
It Fits Almost Every Car
Most people think traveling around with a rooftop tent is only possible for those who drive four-wheel vehicles or vans. However, this isn’t the case, as these tents can fit almost every average car. You shouldn’t worry about the tent not fitting your rented vehicle. Most rooftop tents measure 78 by 49 by 12.5 inches when closed.
However, some tents slightly differ in dimensions and weight. This majorly depends on the tent design, how it opens, and the material. Always check your vehicle’s static and dynamic weight before purchasing a rooftop tent.
Easy to Set Up
If you are an outdoor enthusiast, you definitely understand how difficult it is to set up conventional tents, especially after a long day of traveling. It often requires that you find a dry and level camping spot. Unpacking the tent and mounting it correctly is also a challenge, especially for beginners. Initially, I could spend 30 to 45 minutes setting up conventional tents.
However, this isn’t the case with rooftop tents. All I had to do was park my vehicle in a convenient spot and pop the tent. I completed setting up the tent within seconds, which wasn’t surprising. Hard-top rooftop tents are the easiest, as you only need to open the top part.
Safe and Secure
Conventional in-ground tents have other challenges besides the hassle of setting up. For instance, they are vulnerable to strong winds, and there’s an imminent danger of bites from crawling insects, snakes, and other animals. Sleeping on top of the car eliminates all these risks.
I also didn’t have to worry about being rained on since your tent isn’t anchored on wet grounds. Rooftop tents are also generally warmer because there’s no cold from the ground. Though I had packed them, I didn’t have to use my sleeping bags all through the journey.
Free Up Storage Space
Most rooftop tents have enough space to accommodate your bedding, even when closed. It perfectly accommodated my mattress and sleeping bag all through the journey. That aside, they also come with additional space that can be used to store extra luggage. The space was big enough to fit my folding camping chairs and tables.
Most often I try to take and test new equipment and choose the right one for me.
Safe and Secure Roof Top Tent
Based on my experience, rooftop tents are an invention that has made camping and road tripping easier. All you should do is choose a quality rooftop tent, rent a suitable car for your trip, and pick the right destination. I’d suggest going over the mountains or to sandy beaches.
